SHA Thanks Sylacauga Civitan

The Sylacauga Housing Authority would like to thank the Sylacauga Civitan Club for their contribution to the Sylacauga Fall Festival. The Sylacauga Civitan club was kind enough to collect candy for the event to contribute to the Trunk or Treat. The Sylacauga Fall Festival will be held on October 31st from 6-8 pm at Noble Park. This free event promises fun for the whole family, including a large trunk or treat, pony rides, and a haunted house. Candy donations are being accepted at the Sylacauga Housing Authority central office (415 W 8th Street).

The Sylacauga Civitans are a group of volunteers who are seeking ways to better their community with an emphasis on helping disabled children and adults. Their efforts have included, assisting the ARC, handicap ramp builds, collecting food for the CARE house, assembling flood relief buckets, organizing an annual Autism Walk. They meet each 1st and 3rd Thursday at Hickory Street Café at 12:00 pm. Membership is open to those 18 and over who demonstrate reputable character.
